Custom photography portfolio website with multiple categories and contact form.
So my now good friend Max comes to me one day out of the blue and tells me he needs a portfolio website for his photography work. Now keep in mind that this is before Instagram and Facebook wasn’t quite a thing as it is today yet. He didn’t have alot of money to spend but didn’t mind giving me a professional video plug with what cash he did have. He needed a logo as well, which was pretty easy to conceptualize once I talked to him. After the logo design I had a pretty good idea of what he was going for – or at least I thought. I actually came up with what was almost a complete site and he really didn’t like it! But… being the giver that I am, I came up with something very different in a short amount of time and the second time around was the winner.
What I liked about working with Max Topplin is that not only does he have great photographic work, but he’s a really pleasant guy to be around in general and he’s super-easy to work with. I put together this site so that he could feature his work, and when it was done, he was very happy. This was one of my earlier forays using jQuery, and it gave me an opportunity to do some really cool page transitions that I hadn’t done before, so all in all it was a fun project and I’m glad Max still has it running.
